Yes and no. That rarely happens b/c they fill up at an optimal point based on past experience. They don't have enough experience to create procedures adequate on battery power yet. It's not so much a critique of the fuel source as it is of the process. 120 mph chase kills a battery much faster than average highway speeds. They just don't have enough experience on how to rotate units in and out of usage yet. Batteries take longer to charge than gas tanks to fill.

Good points, especially the fill up time vs recharge, big difference between taking 10 minutes to fill up a gas tank vs hours of charge time.
