If you do buy an older car make sure you buy extra parts now. It may be very hard to get older car parts in the near future with the main supplier going bankrupt.

I have a 2000 GMC and I've had a GM DEALER tell me he won't work on it because it's too old and he can't get parts. But he be glad to take it on on trade for a nice new $80,000 1500...

rockauto.com has never failed me. Maybe find a local that works exclusively on GMs, even if the guy is out of your area. Support a local guy instead of dealers anyway. For as long that is possible, anyway.

I've ordered from them before. Problem with rock auto is that when you need parts, you usually need them right now. I was going to that dealership because it's right next to work and I could just drop off. Since then my son got a job at a shop after getting certified,so I just take it there now.
