Even I can laugh at myself. I love working on rotary rockets and ford bought mazda in 2008... gay.

A car needs a television like a fish needs a bicycle. That said...

In days of yore, vehicles had lots of viewable area when you turned your head to back up. Today? Much less so. I had the pleasure of driving my Grandfather's '61 Chevrolet Impala, and if you could turn your head there wasn't a millimeter of blind spot on it. Pretty confident the top of the car would've pancaked in a rollover, but it was a bright and visible vehicle to drive.

Most vehicles today present a rear view akin to a cave or tunnel - even trucks and large SUVs. I'll admit I find backup cameras handy.

People might have to use mirrors? The horror!

Ford is such a fucking waste sometimes. They can make a car that runs relatively trouble-free for 20 years, or they can make a piece of shit. No in-between.

I do make jokes but there are some impressive things about ford. They never needed a bank bailout unlike other US car manufacturers just a bit years back.

I will give them that. I also have to give them props, my '07 Focus, besides what I consider consumables from age, has started for me reliably every morning for 18 years.

Best car I've owned was the 1988 Ford Ranger XLT I bought right out of college. I put 270,000 miles on it over 16 years, and other than consumables (brakes, clutch, tires, etc), the only issues I had with it were the weak head bolts they replaced gratis at year 3. Inline 4 cylinder with throttle body fuel injection and a 5 speed manual transmission. Would do 80 mph reliably and frequently - didn't ride too badly either.

Damn I miss that truck...
