As for the Italian old blood families, I'm not particularly surprised. Most of the oldest influential families in Europe are related to the most influential families of the Roman Empire. They can literally trace their lineage to the Roman and Etruscan period by the appropriate gens. It's actually quite interesting the lengths that they go to to keep that information detailed, accurate, and off our radar.
