That said, the administration does seem dead-set on one thing in particular: these machines must be manufactured here in the States if they are to be sold here. That, of course, would require Japanese automakers to find production capacity for those machines here, but that isn’t an outright impossibility.

They want them made in the USA. I guess the expectation is that Toyota and Honda would make them at their existing American factories.

I wish the Big Three would make them. I would buy a bite size Ford.

The landwhales would reeeeee so hard at these diminutive cars because the cars are smaller and weigh less than they do. If a hamplanet ever managed to squeeze into one, that would become their coffin if the jaws of life were not readily available. For these reasons alone, I welcome the approval of micro-cars in the USA.
