Yeah, What the actual fuck?

Yeah, What the actual fuck?

We need to crowd source a new car company that just makes good cars that are engineered well and the parts are always made the same and can be easily replaced. Either that or hope Gabe goes after cars the way he is going after video game consoles.

I seem recall a project like this in the works, but I can't recall any details about it. Maybe it was just an idea that was brought up in another topic.

If you remember/find it, please post it.

Any company would make a durable, dependable vehicle in a formfactor that meets my needs for making deliveries would have my business for life. I just today stopped by a Nissan dealer to inquire about the 2025 Versa to replace my 16 y/o 400,000 mi hatchback. They stopped making them part way through the model year and the dealer couldn't find one nationally. Fucking ridiculous.

I want a manual transmission. That's the sticking point. No one makes them any more. I'll have to get used and hope it comes close to what I got out of the one I have.

Manual is the reason I still have my 10 year old car. I am too stubborn to replace and will drive it until I can't get parts anymore, then I will look to have them made.

In 40 years I've only ever owned one automatic transmission. It was a 1978 Ford Ranchero. It was a great time. 350 hp V8 that hauled like a truck but handled enough like a car to be fun.

that's just to change the brake pads

It reminds me of the "Smart Car" where you needed to remove the engine to replace the oil filter.

So the filters are basically never changed? Thats real bad.. whats the average lifetime mileage for the engine?
