Bloomberg News just estimated that the world has spent about $10 trillion on emissions reduction efforts in the 10 years since the Paris Climate Accord was signed in 2015. During that time, emissions have increased to record levels, with the rate of increase four times higher than in the 2010s, according to the most recent United Nations Emissions Gap Report. So that’s $10 trillion that accomplished nothing.

Nothing. Nada. Zip. Zilch. Well that's not exactly truthful, as it likely helped enrich (((some people))).

Yeah…where did those trillions go?

What if the the real emissions reduction was the money they grifted along the way?

As long as they literally don't light it on fire and burn through it that way, it probably counts.

I doubt that breakeven point is evening factoring in the price of the battery being replaced as its energy storage potential degrades. I don't know numbers about expected charge cycles but I doubt the battery will still be good after 10 years.

It probably will have some capacity left, but nothing really useful. The life of the vehicle is ~10 years.

Take into account even a lightly maintained modern ICE car can easily run 15-20 years, there's no comparison.

Life of the vehicle is 10 years? Thats insane.

I say 10 years because that's how long you can reasonably expect a battery to last with any kind of charge capability. Does your phone battery hold a good charge after 5 years?

The vehicle itself is probably fine, but when you need a $12000 "engine" - assuming the battery pack is even available, as the required parts build time is 10 years for a car in the USA - is it going to be worth it?
