So I'm in the market for a new car. New new. The used market is fucking stupid and apparently my almost 10 year old Honda is worth $15k trade-in.

My first thought was to stick with Honda, but they seem to have paired their trim levels down and now the base model comes with almost nothing and they don't have the options to add things. You have to go up a trim level. Even the mid trim is lacking features my current mid trim Honda has.

My next thought was Toyota. I was onboard until I read you can't do remote start unless you pay a monthly subscription. Not only is that fucking retarded, that's a deal breaker for me.

So I'm not sure where to look now. What are the Poalr suggestions?

Things I need in a new car: - reliability - good gas mileage - remote start and auto lock (crazy that this isn't standard these days) - Android Auto support

Things I'd like to have in a new car: - wireless android auto\phone charge - moon roof - heated seats - not ghey looking

The Toyota may also start remotely using only its FOB. Look it up and see. It's not well known, I discovered it accidentally.

Press the "Lock" button 3 times:

Press Lock → Lock → Lock and hold (hold the third press for 3–5 seconds).

Not ghey looking.... that's tough.

I have Toyotas, yea, not a big fan of how they look, but they work.

Just tried that on my Wife's vehicle. It's new enough to have the feature but apparently only some trim levels have it and her's must not. Looks like I can get a module that takes about 25 min to install that would enable that feature though, its about $250. Guess ill ask her if she want's it.

Don't get the app. It sucks, plus it's extremely annoying as it notifies you about everything the vehicle does.

The door was opened, the car was started. The car was parked. It's fatiguing, nearly as bad as niggers.

You know you can modify the notification settings right? Just saying. Also, I would never want an App. The device I was talking about is 3rd party and doesn't do that shit.

Yeah I could get an aftermarket remote starter I guess. It'd be nice if it was all in the same fob though. Remote start was standard on my current Honda 10 years ago. Now it's a luxury apparently.

The new Corolla looks like the 2010 Civic. I'm not really a fan but I can overlook. It's not too bad.

The interior of the new Civic looks fucking horrible. Not sure I could get over that.
