I'm still confused on how 3D printing works. So is their just one type of multipurpose material that is loaded in there? Or do they have to switch the cartridge out everytime they print an object made of different material? I mean the body of the car, the tires, the wiring, the seats...all different material. How does that work?

It's a complicated modern manufacturing process that I'm not an expert on myself ... so about the best I can do is give you this wiki link (en.wikipedia.org) that may help explain. Sorry, but I don't have my own head wrapped around it fully myself ... I need to study this more, it is interesting.

Before I retired we (Boeing) were working a project where some printed circuit boards were 3D printed. It was our first attempt at such a thing and I could've had the opportunity to go watch the process, but never did ... now I kick myself, it would've been neat to see.
