This just makes my brain hurt.

What the actual fuck. I knew how to change the oil on a car/truck/tractor by the time I was ~5 years old. I was shown how to do it and was expected to. With few exceptions

I still do that today. Same with changing a tire. I taught my wife how to change a tire and had her do it when it was needed once. I would never force it and would do it for her but you never know what can happen if you are a few hours away. It is important to know how to do things and to take care of yourself.

We have made the world too easy to live in. Too many morons exist now that cannot do the most basic of things. Now we are importing millions of morons that can't do basic things but are also extremely violent.

@stupidbird and others. When did you learn how to do basic maintenance on anything? Sorry that I "pick on you" but you know your shit. Basic electrical, Basic plumbing, Basic car stuff, Basic fab, Carpentry, etc.

Making this country great again means the "old timers" (knowledge holders) passing on what they have in their heads. I wish there was a large enough concentration of people from this site that we could have a "space" to work on stuff and teach others and kids. Who knows, maybe that is closer than I think.

Most of the stuff I learned was when I was a kid. Some of it I just played with and saw how it worked, - electrical tech stuff was always kind of fascinating so it was a natural fit. The rest of it I learned from necessity.
