I had a gf with a late 1960s VW beetle back then too. That back seat was even smaller than in my Pinto. Good thing she was only 5'2". The skin on my knees took a beating back in the day.
LOL, 5'2" and 6'1", reminds me of an old Bob Saget joke, (kind of makes me want to puke with what we know now), paraphrased:

It was just my luck the first girl I got tangled up with in college was a nympho (the 5'2" VW Beetle owner). It took a couple of years to get untangled from her. She did not help my grades one bit.
