I always bitch at my wife for using this setting. It makes the mind lazy, so you think "I never have to worry about lights again". I keep telling her "you will be worried when it is bright outside and raining and you get pulled over because state law requires that your headlights are on when you are using your wipers".
My headlights, when in automatic, turn on when my automatic windshield wipers turn on when they sense rain.
