Auto makers have always been somewhat beheld to regulatory politics in the USA, and bidet has shown he and his admin is willing to just turn off industries (pipelines) with a stroke of the pen. I'm guessing the automakers are so beheld to the government telling them what they can do that they are afraid and are trying to play by the unfair rules set out for them.
I could see bidet just executive ordering government takeover of auto makers if they don't comply. As it is, they're probably not going to be around in the same capacity they are now if we keep on this destructive path, and automakers know it - even as they suck bidet's cock and support him.
