Because they cost a fuck load of $$. If you get any minor damage it costs a fuck load of $$$ to fix. The range is limited, it takes a long time to charge even with a "super charger".. The list goes on.

From the post: "Electric vehicles were supposed to be inevitable. Two years ago President Joe Biden climbed behind the wheel of a beefy white electric Hummer to tout his plan to make half of all new cars sold electric by 2030. The following year Congress passed the Inflation Reduction Act, which created a bevy of incentives for drivers to buy electric and for automakers to invest in EVs. That set off a flurry of new projects: EV plants, battery-manufacturing facilities, and mining operations began popping up. By the end of 2022 the situation looked promising: More and more Americans were going electric, and soon everyone would be driving an EV, reducing emissions in the process."

People aren't stupid is the reason why EVs are a failure. The only reason the cars are "affordable" with govt subsidies are because of child slave labor used to mine the materials (which go into your Ps5, Xbox, iPhone, smart house bullshit, etc). Replacing slaves with paid workers for what the market will bear will jack up the price into $80k and over range. The Obamacar is on it's last legs. In 10 years EVs will be a niche market, probably in the tourism or hospitality areas.
