Diversity hire.

Came here to post this. Probably one of the Biden administration illegal friends with no documentation or training to prep them for the 2024 vote in a bribe for under the table money.

I was looking at 2 post lifts for awhile, until my son started sending me videos just like this. They are a death trap. I wanted one because they are a lot cheaper for more power, but it's just not worth it. There are tons of videos out there of cars coming off these 2 post lifts with no one bumping it or anything at all.

I used 2 post lifts my whole life, Thousands of cars over the years. You know how many cars fell? Zero.

Nice, I'm not a pro, I'm not taking the chance.

A friend with a 2 post lift was letting his friend use it to work on his chevrolet 1500 4wd truck. I can't remember what he was doing but he was jiggling the truck and it came down on him, bounced him out of the way, hard. He got really banged up, at least a couple months of recovery. The verdict was he did a half assed job of positioning the supports. I think 2 posters are fine if you double check the supports and the lift points on the vehicle aren't rusted out. I like the 4-posters a lot but extra $$$. Love to have one.

Yea, the supports gotta be just right. But also, if you are working and change the weight distribution in any way at all, that shit can come crashing down. For example, removing a wheel and tire. Pulling the transmission. Hell, even draining the oil out of the pan could change the point of balance and you're fucked. I'll never work under a 2 post. Fuck that noise.

You set the supports, lift the vehicle about a foot off the ground, jiggle the hell out of the vehicle to try to knock it off the lift. If it survives that, you're safe. A popular mechanic on YT Rainman Ray does it every time for safety.

We suspect the owner won't be leaving a five-star rating

The owner is going to be leaving with a new corvette.

Straddle a ditch, slide some plywood under it. Only way I've ever done it. Of course I've never owned a gazillion dollar vehicle worth paying someone to work on either.

I had a very basic working pit in the garage of my old house. The original owner built it. Really handy but I had to use a sump pump to keep the floor "dry" in the non-winter months. Had a step ladder to get in and out. Great if you have someone working with you to move the car.

And hand you the tools you left up top! Been there.

Why is a 2024 'Vette in need of maintenance? Is it the EV version?

Could have been an oil change, or an owner that got babby's first performance car and broke something.

Either a routine check-up before delivery, aftermarket accessories install (exhaust, suspension, ...) or the owner brought it back for some new car issue. It happens.
