https://vid8.poal.co/user/beaudacious/twrUp33 - vid stuck for now. just a few second of the ring gear spinning while my German buddy is seeing for the first time the carnage he purchased.

All of those missing teeth, I found only one broken off tooth in the housing, which fits a tooth on the other side of the gear. Tells me someone broke it before, removed the teeth from the case, and glued it back together and ran it. The fucking set of gears is only 200 bucks...

Why they made jeeps with a fucking 3.07 axle ratio is beyond me. Its a Jeep, people are going to assume it can offroad and attempt to do that. Then break shit.

I was going to say before I read the whole post that Usually blowing up a ring gear is EITHER an inherent defect OR It got worked to death via Tranny stands or extended clutch dumping burnouts but then I saw JEEP and said uh huh you CAN beat them to death 4 wheelin too especially when they aren't up to the actual task.

The fucking set of gears is only 200 bucks...

I'll bet that was more about laziness or lack of the ability to do the job than the price.

a person down the road told me that since they bought a new jeep they dont wheel it anymore because it cant. they park it at the base of the mountain and hop in with someone else..
