Bullshit. There's not enough cars displacing gas vehicles to make a difference. No way is 8 cars making that much of an impact.

The article isn't saying the current pothole plethora is being caused solely by electric cars, just that electric cars have the potential to cause 2x the damage of a gasoline car. This has been known for some time as electrics are heavier than their petrol counterparts.

Your point is still valid though. Fix the damn roads and quit pointing fingers.

It's why there are EV-rated tires. The gross weight per footprint area of an EV is typically considerably higher than an ICE vehicle due to that massive battery. That puts a lot more pressure on the pavement.

Well, they weigh a hell of a lot more than a standard sized car of the same type that is not a EV. This should be surprising to no one.

Right, No engine but multiple (usually) motors that also weigh a lot. Granted they technically have less moving parts than an ICE but most people are kind of stupid.

I used to think that it was a lack of effort or applying yourself and that most people can actually do most things if they just try hard enough. Im older now and realize that George Carlin was right and there are just a fuck load of stupid people in the world...and thats a bit disturbing.

the batteries are extremely heavy deadweight in an EV. The motors are probably fairly light in comparison.

The concept of electric cars is great. Electric bikes, too. I even go along with the "green" energy crowd on this. .....But change the laws to make golf carts street legal..... .....Don't try to build a 2 ton battery with wheels that imitates a car..... Make them out of bamboo and balsa wood. No windshield required. Let people drive them freely in residential neighborhoods to the store and back.
