Lost the tranny in my 86 dodge. Today I bought a jasper built Chrysler 727 WITH the transfer case for $200. Still has the yellow crown writing on it. Guy was putting his truck together 5 years ago, then went to jail. Just got out and needs money. Would not sell the whole truck. Parting it out. Offered $200 for the tranns and transfer case thinking he'd laugh. Deal if you take it out, he said. My buddy and I had it out and gone in 30 minutes! I had to tell someone so there you go POAL.

Plan to rebuild the tranny while you have it out or just junk it?

The whole thing was rebuilt before he went to jail. He drove it for a week then lost his case. It's been sitting in the truck unmoved for 5 years.

I'll have it rebuilt as soon as I can. It's getting hard to come by these older parts anymore. It's all going to the scrap yard. I've got a few friends that are into old dodge trucks. One of us will need it eventually.
