A week or two ago the CEO of Toyota was speaking some reality about the largest auto maker needing to supply the actual market which demands ICE cars. This is doubly true for regions of the world where electric car infrastructure is not feasible. Well, he got fired. (archive.ph)

Toyota is captured.

I think it was Akio Toyoda who had doubts about the success of electric cars, and wanted to keep gas cars around. And he was right. Electric cars won't work, period. They are so much inferior to gasoline driven cars in so many different ways, it's not even a close contest. North America cannot support a transition to electric cars in the foreseeable future. Forget for the moment that the fucking things are inferior -- the electrical grid doesn't exist that would power them. It's not close to being built. It's fucking idiotic to think that EVs are going to replace ICE vehicles within the next few decades, let along the next few years. It's nuts. It's irrational and downright crazy. Our leaders are insane.
