Nuclear batteries would be the way to go ... but they would only be possible in a sane, educated, white Christian society.

Nuke, better batteries that charge quicker and don't explode, or supercapacitors with a density thousands times higher than we currently have.

You would need superconductors. Normal batteries can't take the heat from quick charging all the time. I would only slow charge a vehicle, or a phone.

Don’t forget the environmental impacts of battery production and disposal. I’m not a green peace nutjob, but we should be good stewards. Li on batteries are not it.

That's not even considering the electric power grid's capacity. Even if a magic battery immediately was available that recharged in 5 minutes and allowed 500 mile range, it wouldn't work today.
