I really like BMWs, but I hear the maintenance kills you on those $$$. Plus that's not exactly a low profile car, doesn't fit my style. Same issue with the Cadillac and Lincolns, I like nice cars that don't draw attention.

Yeah, I have a Mercury Milan for my primary car and it's still going strong, but one day I'll have to replace it. It just blends in ... nothing special. The one thing I hate, and there's no getting away from it anymore, is all the electronics. They're neat features that I like, yet if and when they start going, big bucks, I'm sure.

Plus those options increase the base cost too. You're right you can't get away from them either, some of them are mandatory features now. Between fuel and safety regulations, the government is probably pushing up the base cost by at least 5k per unit.

How long you had that Milan? I really like the new Continental, but that's practically a limo.

Back in high school I bought a 85 Continental for 500 bucks and that thing was tits. It started having suspension problems that weren't worth fixing tho, common in those cars.
