I don't use the OnStar. It's just some shit that came with it when it shipped brand new twenty years ago.

Chances are it's a weak battery. A proper load test done with a cheap $100 dollar scanner will tell you. Alternator should output in general 14.4v anything higher it's over charging and it if starts low 12.9-13.6 then goes up that's going bad slowly
