Neither is electric really, unless we can figure out a way to get a lot more power into the car a lot quicker.
Electric had it's day before the internal combustion engine was perfected. The only way they will replace IC engine with electric cars is by FORCE. If they were better they'd already be dominant.

Massive supercapacitor banks would be idea for electric cars, but they suffer from high prices and the massive spark you'd get from instant discharge (accident, etc.)
