Although, by legal opinion, courts likely would not allow manufacturers to disable essential functions that affect a car’s intended operation—you know, as a car—anything else could be fair game for pay-as-you-go licensing: infotainment apps, comfort options like a heated steering wheel, or maybe even features that define a model’s dynamic character, like a sport sedan's horsepower and torque parameters or suspension settings.
Good thing I don't care about (or even want) most of the stupid bells and whistles. If these fucktards think a software update is gonna stop me from turning a heated steering wheel back on they've got another thing coming.
They can probably get city dwelling bug people to pay a subscription for air but as far as I'm concerned if I have it, I own it.
I think they mean you won't be able to register and likely even find gas for it so it'll be out of gas or illegal since they will ban gas powered non self driving cars. I think they mean not a choice and likely the parts like filters will not be sold in the near future.
