Gas stations can run on their own fuel. Even a local gas station that was under construction literally had a generator operating it for two months.
Yes I see that. But liquid can be brought in by truck. Also it takes time for that system to shutdown, electricity is instant.
Even with all that you were able to still find fuel or drive further out and get fuel.
If the system is 100% EV and the grid goes down, the masses are pretty much fucked. No semis can come in, deliver goods and return, if they are EV.
A normal semi has 1200-2000 mile range with full tanks, they can deliver food or fuel to a disaster area of the country and drive back.
If the grid goes down, EV semis and cars are making a one way trip to a dead zone. They will quickly shutdown the grid beyond the max range of EVs.
They are making a hard push on climate change for a reason, that reason is more control and restriction of mass travel.
