It's "the thing to do" right now. You'll get a bunch of sales, people find out they don't really do what's advertised, and then sales will taper off until a major advance in energy storage is achieved.
The people who buy them won't be trying to use them off-road aside from a handful of e-celebrities that will buy them to make videos making fun of them.
You'll get a few sorry souls that think they're going to use them offroad, but yeah. Your estimation is probably correct.
The people who buy the expensive EVs will have to install solar panels on their roof.
This is part of my long term plan. Having a Tesla Cyber truck to drive my elderly disabled family members around & charge it off solar, diesel, and possibly natural gas.
