It would still be illegal to drive away regardless so either you die because you're unable to use your car, you die because you choose not to use your car because it's illegal, or you use your car, get arrested serve a few years in jail and have to use public transport for the rest of your life. You'd be fucked anyway.

pretty much, I think they make you come back for two or three days of jail after all the court shit is done where I live
I'd rather be alive and MAYBE get a dui then be a dead law abiding citizen.
I didn't post about the legality. It's more about buying a vehicle that has limitations that could harm you.
Why not build cars with governors that keep you right at the speed limit? Same principle, maybe someone is trying to kill you in a road rage incident and you need to lose them. So many scenarios.
