Wagner?

I don't understand the question. It was a Subaru dealer, if that's what you mean.

[–] 1 pt

Ya, Wagner Subaru in Dayton has one

[–] 0 pt

Oh, ok. No, this was the dealer in DuBois, PA. I have some friends in that area, so I stopped in.

[–] 1 pt

Kinda hurting for inventory.

[–] 1 pt

Subarus are a favorite of lesbians...juss sayin

[–] 1 pt

I can't help that. I bought it because it's an all wheel drive with a standard.

[–] 1 pt

So...you DENY being a lesbian? Interesting.

[–] 1 pt

Well, I have a penis, of the kind that was part of my body when I was born.

But I fully understand that under clown world rules, that doesn't necessarily mean anything.

[–] 1 pt

is that the car mr bean drives?

[–] 0 pt

No, Mr. Bean drove a 1976 Mini 1000 MkII

It was probably slightly larger than the old Subaru in the picture.

[–] 1 pt

oh yea that's right i forgot the mini. i just watched that skit the other week where he seen a guy push his bike through a red light so he jumped out of the car and pushed it through.

BEEP BEEP get off the sidewalk I'm driving here!

Do dealers actually know how to service models of theirs that are this old?

Those grease monkeys can barely align a car. I know because I sublet for that dealership if it's the one I think it is.

I've heard the stories, they have so many tools courtesy of corporate but no one working at the dealership workshops know how to use them.

[–] 0 pt

Because grease monkeys do common jobs.

I've got the art of media blasting intake valves down to a science.

I assume that, if you had one of these, you'd probably be doing the service yourself or would have a specialty shop to do it.

I doubt parts are readily available, and the chances of someone in the shop having knowledge of this one would be slim. This is in a pretty rural area, so there may be one of those good ol boys that can fix anything, but even then - parts would be a problem.

Curious, why buy a filter from the dealer? Its not like they make them.

The engine air and cabin air filters seem to be similar price from the dealer as an auto parts store. I figure the least I can do is use OEM parts while the car is under warranty.

The auto parts stores around me don't seem to have anything right now. Even the bog-standard FL910-S filter for my old Focus was out of stock. However, the dealer I went to didn't have anyone to work the parts counter on Saturday, so it was closed.

I probably should just order a box of them online while I can still get them, stuff just seems to be running out.

Yeah I finally ordered the last stuff I needed for a clothesline. Figured I might need it in the future and better get the stuff now while its available. I filled up my old f150 today (dual tank) it fuckin hurt. I got all the stuff for the next full tune up on it already.

I usually keep a stock of parts, but I ran out of air filters. I feel your pain, things are getting expensive and scarce.

Even my little Focus cries a bit when I fill it up. I'm just happy it still gets 35ish to the gallon.

very cool

Wiki page (en.wikipedia.org)

From 1968, approximately 10,000 were exported to the US, with an original price of $1,297.

About 10k in today's dollars.

[–] 1 pt

I was told, and believe it if you wish, that these were pretty much banned in the USA because they're essentially using trailer tires. It had 10" tires on it.

But 66MPG, that would make an excellent city car.

[–] 1 pt

banned in the USA because they're essentially using trailer tires

Why?

66MPG

That's why. The tires are a stupid excuse.

There were other cars that approached the same mileage, and some that exceeded it. Chinese three wheel cars, which you can purchase here as motorcycles. Civics and justys got near that.

The USA has some strict safety laws regarding cars.

That looks like Brahman.
