The only strong point Chrysler trucks ever had was some solid motors. Dash controls, window cranks and such sucked big time in these beasts. And RUST. Your average 5 yr old Dodge back then could shoot rooster tails through the bed with the rear wheels.
Honestly Chrysler cheaped out on a lot with dodges, jeeps too.
Their reputation as second rate disposable trucks was well established by the time the merger BS that completely wrecked Jeep (and AMC) happened.
My fav are Chrysler 90s jeeps. Wranglers, and Cherokees that had the amc 4 or inline 6 motor. No probs, with motor anyways. Electrical Gremlins are common. The jeeps with Chrysler v8s had so many issuses.
Chrysler cheaped out a lot. Every 90s Jeep XJ has melted fan blower switches. Every junk yard I have looked. Which means no ac. No heat.
Now I own a dodge built by Fiat. And its a POS.
I love dodge and jeep, but they are letting me down in reliability.
Goin Toyota next.
