I'm at 219,900 today. That was the first new car I ever purchased, got my money out of it. I'd buy another one just like it if I could get it.
Also, I paid $2700 for my daily, put an additional $2000 in it for some negligible neglected maintenance (The damn motor mounts are cunts, and after 13 years you have to figure the shocks are shot). For like $5000 total if you include the initial cost of the vehicle plus tires and the aforementioned maintenance, I have basically a brand new 07 Focus, and I love it.
Oh, and the previous owner tinted the windows within legal spec and installed an aftermarket stereo.
Yeah, the mounts are shit. If you can find one, replace the rear transmission torque strut with a racing version. I got a solid poly in aluminum one, it made for a nice improvement. You won’t notice much more noise because they’re a grumbly car to start with.
Ah, I picked mine up used parked out front of a farm house. Never bought a new vehicle in my life, and the only vehicles I've bought which never burned me have been my Focuses.
