If they don't make them like they used to, get one they used to make and turn it into what it should have been.

Back tires got wider, front tires got skinnier. Sort of like the guy's ass and arms.

Thats more than maintenance.

Good thing I included “love” in the title.

“Upgrades” doesn’t quite roll off the tongue as nicely.

Thats what happens when you keep a job

I wonder if 30 years from now anyone will restore and drive the cars from today. Now I guess you see like the old land cruisers and broncos but not really a ton of cars from 80s and 90s.

Too many electronics, expensive sensors and airbags. Old cars are fun to work on, new ones not so much.

I recently learned my truck has microphones in the cylinder which listen for pre-detonation, so it can adjust timing on the fly for max efficiency. Not exactly something a shadetree mechanic can fix when it breaks!

They are piezo transducers screwed to the cylinder block and have been used for over 10 years on many cars.

But what happens when it stops working on an engine that's rated to use 87 octane with 20+ lbs of boost?

Im gonna keep my 1997 Subaru Legacy and trick it the fuck out, then pass it down to my grandchildren, so they can see how fucking normal I was back in the day.
