Im unfamiliar with him or his story, is there somewhere I could read more about it?

So many have made these through history, so many just tried to bring it to the world. All who have were shuttered. Stories like these are why I didn’t.
I got Evan Soule interested in him. Evan is the guy who really put Newman on the map. And Evan wrote his book for him.
I also recall how the government got to him. One day, he's friggin' awesome. A week later, he was out in his back yard staring up in the sky and verbally talking to the clouds. Within weeks, all his supporters disappeared (wisely) understanding that he was 'gotten to'. For at least a year, he was a blathering idiot. Me, I split from New Orleans for San Diego. Only Evan stayed with him.
