It's only half true anyway. most modern "Manual" vehicles actually use a hybrid auto/manual system. Japanese cars in particular. You can swap between the two as you please, and in most you dont even use a clutch and shifter, just tabs on the steering wheel itself. Only Japanese maker I'm aware of that still makes a traditional shifting vehicle is Subaru
