When I moved out here, last year, I was excited to hear my dad play the drums again. He told me he just can’t do it anymore due to age and health issues.

He started selling all his equipment. He had two nice acoustic sets and two electronic sets. He sold and was down to one electronic set.

I figured out he gave up because he just couldn’t figure out how to hook it up anymore. I don’t know shit about playing the drums, but I can figure out how to hook up electronics.

I helped set it up and plug in everything. That was the issue. He was so hyped when it was ready and working. This man had been a drummer for 50+ years. In his youth, he played in shows, competed in nationwide Battle Of The Band contests against famous acts, and played in traveling and small bands up into his 60’s.

He can still play. He was just frustrated and sad he could piece things together.

This made me so happy. And this was two days ago. Tonight, I went over to his house and he was programming his kits.

Very awesome!

Thanks for sharing. Yeah, the inevitable is a real bitch. My mom is having issues as well. I don’t mention her on here because I just feel it’s different than talking about pops and one of my brothers and his wife care for her.

The arthritis sounds absolutely awful. I had to look it up. I honestly didn’t know it was an autoimmune issue. I hope you can get some relief from that.

And yes, I’ll def share some more drum footage when it happens. Thinking soon but he has a procedure I’m driving him to tomorrow that may lay him up through the weekend.

It’s tough watching your parents decline. It’s good you have family to share the load. It’s not always easy.

This RA is something only niggers and grabblers should get since they’re always put’n their degenerate hands on everybody else’s shit. I’m read’n more and more how it is connected to the (((SARS virus))). How cases have increased since its release upon mankind and expected to rise even more. Ain’t that nice. Motherfukrs, haven’t they stolen enough from our lives.

Look’n forward to catching more drum vids! I literally felt the joy rise in myself as it raised in your ol’ pops.
