When I moved out here, last year, I was excited to hear my dad play the drums again. He told me he just can’t do it anymore due to age and health issues. He started selling all his equipment. He had two nice acoustic sets and two electronic sets. He sold and was down to one electronic set. I figured out he gave up because he just couldn’t figure out how to hook it up anymore. I don’t know shit about playing the drums, but I can figure out how to hook up electronics. I helped set it up and plug in everything. That was the issue. He was so hyped when it was ready and working. This man had been a drummer for 50+ years. In his youth, he played in shows, competed in nationwide Battle Of The Band contests against famous acts, and played in traveling and small bands up into his 60’s. He can still play. He was just frustrated and sad he could piece things together. This made me so happy. And this was two days ago. Tonight, I went over to his house and he was programming his kits. Very awesome!
