It sucks when another one of my parents favorite actors and musician favorites die. It happens often now.

I hate when these passings remind them of their own mortality.

My parents are pushing 70 now. All their favorites are dropping like flies.

Enjoy every day with them. I am a nurse focused on geriatrics. Some ppl slowly decline and you see it coming. Others, all it takes is a fall, or pneumonia, and they go downhill and die in 2 weeks. Me, if I were you I'd record biography interviews. Start as far back as they recall. Ask them about their toys, friends, what they did after school and weekends. Their first date. Worst lie they ever told. Ask them about holidays. Ask them about things they never told you as a parent, to not have you think badly of them. Their biggest regret. Best day ever. Achievements. You will be stunned by their tales. I did this with my grandfather who was in the navy in WWII, and found out that his friend had a gf he tried to set my grandfather up with her as HIS gf when the friend had to ship home. Little things make you see the person they were before you came along. It also lets them get things off their chest before they die. Promise them no one will hear them until they pass. I would buy lunch, and spend about an hour at a time questioning and recording him. God, I miss them so much. And there's so much I never asked and wish I had. Aging sucks. Just be there for them and remember they took care of you when you were little and helpless. Pray for patience and compassion on the rough days. ♥️
