Dad went to the hospital 2 or 3 weeks ago after an episode of lethargy. Talking out his head. Couldn’t walk. Got admitted. Diagnosed as walking pneumonia. 5 days of antibiotics. He had a good couple weeks then back to being all fucked up and having to call ambulance again yesterday morning.

He was having issues breathing and lots of pain in his chest and back. I got a same day appointment with his primary care doctor. They did ecg and chest X-ray. Promised they’d call by the end of the day. Prescribed him pain pills. The next day Das is doing worse. I call primary care doctor’s nurse. She said everything checked out fine. I explained how I was worried not to ignore him but not rush him to the hospital. She said just monitor him. Basically brushed me off. The next morning I had to call ambulance again.

Diagnosis is pneumonia in both lungs. I am not a medical terminology expert but they did a procedure by the general surgeon to put a tube in his side to extract the fluids. That wasn’t going to cut it. Was told the fluid is in pockets or something. Ah analogy was think about water turning to ice. He needs to go to big hospital to let thoracic (spelling?) surgeon. He just got transported to big hospital.

I’ve already expressed my concern about his primary care doctor. Then this visit where they say he probably strained muscles lifting something. Now he’s getting invasive procedures.

Fuck all this. And I hate the fucking shekel collectors who pop in as soon as you get admitted.

Everything sucks right now. Driving miles and miles back and forth taking care of dads dogs then back to hospital. No sleep. I’m venting I guess. Fuck. God bless my father. The guy is long overdue for a stretch of good health. I need sleep.

I cannot stress to you enough. Give your dad high dose vitamin C. 3 grams first hour 2g every hour until he's shitting himself, then 1g minimum every hour. Seriously, maximum vitamin c blood concentration is achieved when you reach bowel tolerance, aka shitting yourself. His symptoms will improve in less than 4 hours, not cured but improvement will be noticeable. You can look up Linus Paulings work with vitamin c and pneumonia. I hope you at least look into what I'm telling you.

His case is bad, he may need significantly more vitamin c. Whatever amount it takes to get to bowel tolerance.

Honestly I underappreciated vitamin C like a fool. I took enough of it many years ago not to shit myself but noticed I had to pee much more. This peeing, I think, caused me to not retain enough water so made me noticibly weaker, so I stopped taking vitamin C. After that I was much more sick than usual for 5 years. Now I've taken vitamin C for about a year and I'm back to never being sick again. I have to admit how stupid I was.

I don't doubt is correct however make damn sure he drinks enough water to offset the water he loses.

Absolutely!

Is there a way to offset the tooth decay that vitamin C causes?

You can add baking soda to neutralize the ascorbic acid. I believe at that point it becomes sodium ascorbate which is ph neutral. I don't like the saltiness so I only use a little. Most of the time I chase it with water. Pill form is also another alternative or liposomal vitamin c, as another has mentioned, too.
