The point is to nonviolently provoke the government into doing something violent.
Bingo. If they have to resort to force, then they prove they're illegitimate, and have nothing else as a means.
Of course they could always negotiate with the truckers. But they won't. Because they're tyrants, petty dictators, and jackboots.
And because negotiating won't work this time. Not even appeasement would work. Even if they gave the protest everything they demanded, nothing would end. Because this isn't just about mandates, or the last two years. This is about the last two decades, and all the shit the western white man had gone through since then. They want a complete replacement of the government, the Canadian government can either resign, and give us a peaceful abdication, like we saw in Iceland, or they can cling to power, and get thrown out of their positions. We know that trust has completely ended between people and government, as a result, we cannot have the same people in power anymore. They must be replaced with new leaders of the people's choosing, who would be entrusted to first judge and punish their predecessors, then fix the damage their regime has caused, and then work on making systemic changes to ensure that none of it ever happens again.

Because western governments don't have any credibility any more.
They don't keep promises to major competitor nations.
Why would they keep promises to citizens?
No ones going to negotiate with governments that act like liars and terrorists.
