Not necssarily disagreeing with you here but how can you be certain there aren't plans for that? If they managed to get that many trucks and that many supplies for that many people for this long, then why wouldnt they have done so with large amounts of last resort weaponry as well? Despite what Americans think, there are a lot of guns in Canada per capita and whoever organized this is clearly very well prepared, very well funded and definitely connected. I'm not saying they have, it's likely they didn't, but I think it's reasonable enough that it's possible given the scope of what they've been able to do so far.
I could be wrong but I think firing the first shot is a bad idea in these situations. The cameras seem to be quite effective in deterring these pigs. At least for now. Sometimes they go ahead and do what they want anyway but in the past they didnt have to worry about being filmed every time they were violating someone's rights or murdering someone. And many of the people involved are really good at knowing how to talk to the pigs when they have to. They have basically fired the first shot if people start freezing to death.
