Are we at last brought to such a humiliating and debasing degradation, that we cannot be trusted with arms for our own defense? Where is the difference between having our arms in our possession and under our own direction, and having them under the management of Congress? If our defense be the real object of having those arms, in whose hands can they be trusted with more propriety, or equal safety to us, as in our own hands?

Armed or not, it seems the vast majority of Canadians don't have the mental matrix wiring to even protest using their own resources in a legal way, let alone use guns to do it.

As uncle Adolf mentioned, to cure tuberculosis it must become like cholera in the mind of the patient. Stories of eating rotten food out of garbage cans in Venezuela gets you told you're being hyperbolic. They can't quit the addiction to "everything is going to be ok" even with having a little break from the rush of daily bullshit. That said, a militia here would just turn into a charity event for "undocumented" foreigners rights to vote or something.

It's alright though, the upcoming Canadian holodomor will make some of the survivors stronger.
