For all the criticism US healthcare gets it's generally more advanced and years ahead. Wealthy people travel to the US for better treatment. The US had ceramic neck disks for many years before countries w/ "better" socialized health care. They were still performing disc fusion surgeries for many years that limited range of motion. Doctor's in the US were also performing bypasses w/ a tiny incision as opposed to cracking the whole chest wide open they way they did for many years inaugurating folks into the "zipper club" which refers to the thick scar where there chest was cracked and spread down the middle. Economy is as good a driver of medical advancement as war can also be.

As far as more specific, any mid/southwestern hospital located around a major city will blow your mind. Obviously not in some some inner city ghetto region like Chicago but the difference is night and day. The facilities are more modern from day one and not just an afterthought.

I’m sure that even in Chicago you would get health care faster than where I live. Took me 16 hours to get an xray, in order to get government approval for a cast for a limb with 3 obvious breaks.
