The other day in the mumble, some of you may recall I was alluding to the university international student situation being a form of immigration laundering in Canada. All universities have been hobbled by laws not allowing them to charge too much for Canadian citizens to attend. The laws, however, don't stop them from charging anything they want for international students so they charge between 3-4 times. They are making money hand over fist right now. After 18 months, the students have permanent residency already. Many of the students are actually working full time elsewhere and don't show up for any lectures, but show up for the exams. They are rampant cheaters, but if you out them they gang up on you with complaints to faculty. It's beyond out of hand.
One of the people from this program was the guy who came to a Calgary university, got a 2 year business certificate and then got his trucking license. He's the guy who ran over that Humbolt hockey team in Saskatchewan. Our country's trucking industry has now been co-opted by immigrants that can't drive.
I won't go on, but the universities are a leaking sieve of immigration.
