I want to leave so bad, I had a conservative place/state picked out, 100 acres for 250,000 or 10 acres for 45,000 or a 5,000sq ft home on a 1/2 acre for 400,000 This was early 2020 and everything was shut down, I planned on going in the fall to look at the sites and try and get 100 with everything I wanted on it(stream or spring, backed up to state forest etc). Then the summer of love started and kept going and in Portland and by August when I contacted the agents the prices were now 10 times high for land and only crappy plots were left. The housing was 5-6 times higher and the place had been invaded by liberals fleeing their utopia and brokers who bought up all the land. Now I have to wait a few more years because I still need to be close to Oregon and can’t just move to a neighboring red state.
