How will this get past the Democrat controlled California legislature?
(R) controlled House, Senate and POTUS - or a deal with the devil, like a 52nd state plus more.
Edit: has 40 seats, 32 are (D) occupied. I can't tell how the New California split divides that. What % of the Dems are in New California areas. The CA House, or has 80 members. Same issue.
It might not be out of reach.

The existing legislature has to vote to let them secede. This will never happen with the corrupt Dem machine in place in California.
