San Fran to San Jose has been approved for high speed rail. One the one hand, it's about time, OTOH it's California and they want to take away our gas powered vehicles by any means necessary, even if it costs 30B dollars.
Also 43 miles is nothing.

Also, it is no longer high speed because of all the stops. Also, it is way over budget so we'll need to pay taxes to run it AND pay for fares. Also, it goes from SF to LA, two places turning into incredible shitholes, by way of Fresno, another shithole. A shit project for a shit place.

Doesn’t the zoom age sort of negate the need for commuting between big cities? Who the hell is this even intended for? People who are afraid to fly who need to go to a Hollywood event when their Tesla won’t go the whole distance?

It is another option instead of driving (8-10 hours) and flying (4+ hours including driving to/from airports to where you're going). It was billed as faster than driving, cheaper than flying, and more convenient than both. So, naturally, it is now slower than driving, more expensive than either, and we'll have to wait and see about the convenience part.

I just think the number of people that ‘commute’ has dropped so far as to be useless. Shithole to shithole? Nah, just hide inside your own house and use the internet.

How many times now has HSR been approved in CA?

Does anyone really think high-speed rail can work in a land filled with roaming packs of niggers? Seriously, how long is it going to take some nigger to vandalize this and knock it off its track?
