after some thought I think the reason behind this here is my theory. This has nothing to do with polution. Rather it is about turning devices that last for decades into ones that last about as long as phones.
It's about making people dependent on batteries. That last....maybe a few years and hopefully the original company still makes one compatible with your particular device. Wanna try to repair that after it has been sitting in a garage after maybe 5 years? good luck with that.
This is a right to repair issue and really owning the stuff you buy, also it makes the US dependent on rare earth metals from china and an international supply chain that of course the globalists love. No independence or small engines around to power little motorcycles people might use for motorized bikes with that pesky freedom they might want 5-10 years from now, when regular gas cars get banned.
