Context: there is a gun manufacturer who made guns special to be california compliant.
One of the guns would have been classified as an "other" not a pistol or rifle under the law.
But the way to register them didn't have an "other" option in the online drop down menu so the correct legal paperwork to get it certified could be done.
A lawsuit was filed.
And now bs legal precedent from a case from NY is being used by the state to say that even if they were violating the constitution/law in the past, it doesn't matter because they have since made new laws during the time the lawsuit was in court that the gun would not be considered an "other" today anyway.
