While I don’t disagree with you, what really gets my ire is these are all practices, procedures, and laws that should never have been put into place from the beginning. I won’t laud him for temporarily lessening the insanity. He has still refused to cede his power of emergency use.

I agree they are power hungry psychopaths, bit their power only cones from the people. If the people refuse, they must capitulate to the path that costs the least political capital. He only feared that rolling blackouts would be more politically expensive than fossil fuel use. He didn't do it because it was right. He did it because it was expedient.
