Blacks commit over 50% of murders and I think robberies making them 5+ times more likely to commit those crimes compared to whites, but they're only 2-3 times as likely to commit rape, assault, and most other violent crimes. Simple/misdemeanor assault is more common and less racially skewed so when looking at violent incidents overall it doesn't look quite as bad as when looking at more serious crimes specifically.
