He should be back any one of these days now. Even though it usually just vaporizes whatever is put through it... I'm sure it was a success this time.

And it's just me. I have not perfected my AI, yet.
I wouldn't bother with AI. When using transportation technology, a simple "yes it arrived"/"no it didn't arrive" sensor at the exit portal is sufficient. It's only necessary to have rudimentary AI if you expect to determine that what came out of the exit portal is a reasonable facsimile of what went in.
I guess it really depends on your expectations. If you simply expect an output, then AI is not needed.
